Storage — your files, search and tags

Modified on: Thu, 24 Sep, 2026 at 6:49 AM

Storage gathers everything you've added into one place, with tags to stop it becoming unmanageable.

The storage page

  1. Two tabs. Permanent files sit under My Sources; the temporary ones under Chat Attachments.
  2. Search. Spans both tabs.
  3. File list. Order it by name, size or upload date; everything else is in the row menu.
  4. Add sources. Identical to the one in Chat, with import options tucked behind the arrow.
  5. Create new tag. Brings up the tag panel.
  6. An existing tag. Its chevron opens up any child tags; L1 marks where it sits in the hierarchy.

Searching

Where: Storage › search  ·  Matches: File names only

Search looks at file names and covers sources and attachments alike. Enter part of a name and anything matching rises to the top.

Document contents aren't searchable yet. Getting search inside encrypted files is a tougher problem, and it's queued up. In the meantime, spending two seconds on a name you'd still recognise in six months pays for itself.

Organising with tags

Where: Storage › right panel › Create new tag

Tags let you group files to suit yourself, and they nest.

  1. Hit Create new tag in the right panel.
  2. Give it a name — Finance, for instance.
  3. For nesting, make the child tag (2026) and assign Finance as its parent. The level marker beside each tag shows where you are.
  4. To tag a file, open it, select Assign tags, choose your tag and apply.
  5. Clicking any tag narrows storage to just the files carrying it.

Anything imported from a connected account turns up already tagged with where it came from, so a Google Drive tag may well exist before you create your first one.

Changing soon

Organising tags by dragging and dropping is coming. Until it arrives, choose the parent at the point you create the tag.
